Non-standard and High Risk Homes

Non-standard and High Risk homes may feature the following:

  • Thatched/part thatched properties
  • Listed buildings or features
  • Structures using a high proportion of wood
  • Properties with an adverse claims experience
  • High proportion of jewellery or valuables compared to the general  contents sum insured

Many off-the-shelf or package policies will contain exclusions or restrictions in cover if the property includes any of the above features. In the event of a claim this can lead to reduced settlements, or possibly even the complete refusal of an insurer to provide cover.

We can provide guidance to help you understand where weaknesses exist in your current arrangements and discuss an insurance policy that better suits your needs, underwritten by an insurer who is entirely aware of and comfortable with your homes unique features.
